Brief Biographical Sketch:

Hi Folks! My name's Mireya and I'm so excited to be teaching for SPLASH this year! A bit about me: As a baby, I travelled to Earth in a pod and was adopted by a kind human family. It was on their humble farm that I learned to hone my superpowers. Wait... no. Lemme try again. Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the fire nation attacked. Huh?! No! C'mon Mireya, just keep it simple. You got this. My name is Mireya. I'm a Chicana from Las Cruces, New Mexico. I love reading, writing, running, comedy, and red chile. I'm so excited to meet you all!

A105: How to be Funny! in Splash Splash Spring 2022 (Apr. 23 - 24, 2022)
Do you know how to defeat a gang of murderous clowns? You go for the juggler! (Insert laugh here.) This class will serve as an introduction to the art of stand-up comedy. We'll explore some of the most fundamental styles of comedic writing, practice our joke-delivery, and get started writing our own sets. T'will be a barrel of laughs. And informative. And enlightening. And fun. Yay!
